Romanian Food Festival
The family of Saint Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Church,  parishioners, and Fr. Ioan Radu  offer you a sincere "welcome" to the first Romanian community in Texas, which was founded in 1981.

Our church is part of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America (ROEA), an archdiocese of more than 130 Romanian communities across the USA and Canada. The Diocese is led by His Eminence, Archbishop Nathaniel Popp.

The Romanian people share an ancient and wonderful culture, which is manifested through our Orthodox faith, through our foods, dances, costumes, traditions, and within the vibrant spirit of our people.

Holy Apostle Andrew, the First- Called Christianized our native lands during the time of Christ.
Our Activities
Today we invite you to take a glimpse into "our world". Many of our faithful parishioners put a great deal of work into this festival and with a great hope to continue the tradition for many years to come.

It is a great occasion to enjoy the Romanian Traditional Folk Dances, Live Music with our Romanian singers. Dance with our DJ, and Gymnastics Shows that will be performed live on stage for your visual delight.
Our Traditional Food
Savor the flavors of some favorite Romanian foods. Choose from "ciorba" served with sour cream, vinegar and a traditional garlic paste known as “mujdei”.

"Sarmale" - made of minced meat mixed with rice and spices, rolled into sour cabbage leaves and boiled for hours in a special sauce made of the sauerkraut juice, water, tomato juice and other secret ingredients. They are simply delicious!

"Mici" or "Mititei" - grilled minced meat rolls that are literally translated as “small ones”.
