Romanian Food Festival
The family of Saint Mary's Romanian Orthodox Church, parishioners, and Fr. Ioan Radu offer you a sincere welcome to the first Romanian community in Texas, founded in 1981.

Our church is part of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America (ROEA), an archdiocese of more than 130 Romanian communities across the USA and Canada. The Diocese is led by His Eminence, Archbishop Nathaniel Popp.

The Romanian people have a rich, ancient culture reflected in our Orthodox faith, food, dances, traditions, and vibrant spirit.

Holy Apostle Andrew, the First - Called christianized our native lands during the time of Christ.
Our Activities
Join us today for a glimpse into "our world," where dedicated parishioners have worked hard to continue this cherished festival tradition.

You will also be treated to spectacular gymnastic shows, all performed live on stage for your enjoinment.

It's a fantastic opportunity to experience the rich tapestry of Romanian culture: witness the vibrant energy of our traditional folk dances, lose yourself in the rhythms of live music performed by our Romanian singers, and be captivated by the awe-inspiring gymnastics shows performed live on stage.
Our Traditional Food
Savor the flavors of some favorite Romanian foods. Choose from "ciorba" served with sour cream, vinegar and a traditional garlic paste known as "mujdei".

Sarmale is a culinary masterpiece: tender minced meat, rice, and spices wrapped in sour cabbage leaves. Simmered for hours in a rich broth of sauerkraut and tomatoes, along with secret ingredients. They're simply irresistible!

"Mici" or "Mititei" - grilled minced meat rolls that are literally translated as “small ones”.
